Like so many of you, we continue to await updated state and public health guidance related to vaccinations, travel and gatherings. Even though the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has been issuing their recommendations, CEC employees and parents will need to continue to follow the State of California and LA County Public Health guidance.  We will reach out to you when any new guidance impacts our operating conditions.

As of April 6, 2021 , fully vaccinated (2 does of Pfizer/Moderna + 2 weeks or 1 dose J&J + 2 weeks) individuals may travel into California WITHOUT a quarantine requirement.  For example, this change in guidance allows grandparents  to come visit and stay in your home without need for your child to remain away from the CEC during the grandparent’s quarantine period.  At this time, revisions on gatherings and group sizes remains the same.

This week we are celebrating as a large number of staff members are receiving their 2nd dose of vaccine, and many more adults in the broader community are now eligible. Entering a second year operating under COVID-19, we can see aspects that impact our lives are returning to a semblance of normalcy; slowly but surely. The change in the travel quarantine guidance feels like significant progress. We want to thank you for your cooperation and conservatism as our community nurtures and protects this “CEC bubble.”
