COVID-19 Update: June 15, 2021

Alas! California has reached the long-awaited full "re-opening" of the state. Like you, we have been eagerly seeking information to understand what this means for us personally, but also for the Center's operations and practices. As we noted in an update several weeks ago, very little will change at the CEC at this time. While mask wearing for vaccinated people will no longer be required in most public spaces, early care programs will be required to continue mask wearing for the foreseeable future. This includes children age 2 and over, as well as all parents, staff members, and visitors regardless of vaccination status. We will also continue health screenings and symptom/illness practices since vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals, including children, can contract COVID-19.  Additionally, the travel guidelines for California remain the same. (Out of state travel for unvaccinated individuals, including children, requires a 7-day quarantine upon return with a negative COVID-19 test after day 5.)

We hope and trust that as our state and country relaxes restrictions that everyone in our CEC community will continue to exercise the same thoughtful attention to avoiding possible exposures to COVID-19, as well as communicating with us if their child is displaying symptoms such as cough, fever, etc. Our community has truly weathered this challenging time together, and it has taken all of us to help keep everyone as safe as possible!
