September 2026: Important Oak Grove Parking Update

Crestview, the school that shares the front parking lot with the CEC, begins their new school year on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Many of their elementary students are dropped off via a car line that runs through the front parking lot. At peak drop-off times, this car line will extend onto Foothill Blvd. Right now we anticipate higher traffic between 8:00 am and 9:00 am. Please read below on how to avoid passing this car line illegally.

Crestview requires their parents to begin the car line about two car lengths from the entry to the driveway, allowing CEC parents and staff to make a right turn into the parking lot. When passing the carline, please make sure that you move your car entirely into the 2nd lane from the 1st lane before turning into the lot (see graphic below).

Parking at the Oak Grove Site - a few tips & reminders

Do

  • Keep your speed slow in the main and high school lots; always be on the lookout for children

  • Park across the street on Viro Road if you wish to avoid parking lot congestion or if you have a parent conference during the peak arrival and departure times, leaving spaces available for others

  • Use the CEC's parking map which indicates where you can park 

  • Avoid peak arrival and pick up times when possible

  • Keep your children very close to you in the parking lots

Don't

  • Park in a Crestview parking space before 3:15 pm (Crestview staff can arrive at any time in the morning)

  • Double park or park in front of the entry gates

  • Park in high school spaces from 8:00 am - until school is out (limited parent parking after 8:00 is behind the CEC vans by the entrance gate)

  • Stay on your phone in the car after you have dropped off your child

  • Park in the marked CEC van spaces between 12:00 pm and 3:45 pm - these spaces are needed for our transportation vans
